Eskişehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU) is a state university, the origin of which dates back to the foundation of the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, in 1970. These pioneering faculties became the founders of Anadolu University in 1972. Eskişehir Osmangazi University was founded on 18 August 1993, with the decree law numbered 496. ESOGU has now become one of the leading universities in Central Anatolia with 10 faculties, 1 school, 4 vocational schools, and 5 graduate schools, which are located in 8 campuses. Currently, it has over 30.000 students and 1538 well-qualified, dynamic teaching and research staff. Founded in 1975, the University has total area of 49000 m2 with 5 educational buildings and the Campus comprising a nine-storeyed dormitory for foreign students. It also includes Construction College and a technical Lyceum. Languages of instruction are Azerbaijani, Russian and English. The disciplines taught at the time were civil and canon law, literature and medicine.
